If I had to take the computer in for say a bad CPU, fan, etc would I be able to pop the stock ram back in and no one knows the difference or what?Ĭonsidering the authorized service provider is not exactly close, paying $450 plus taxes and having to set aside an afternoon to do it to save $100 doesn't really seem worth it. If I do the upgrade myself does this void the entire warranty or just for the ram? However I don't want to create any problems getting my mac serviced down the line.

I will be going for the i7 with 512gb SSD but the ram is where things get tricky. Apple uses standard SO-DIMM modules for the memory in the Mac mini, meaning you can buy RAM at a much cheaper price and install it yourself.
